Message: Looking at this site has been a great trip down memory lane for me. I moved to Florida in 1972 and, therefore, didn't actually graduate from Calhoun. If I had, it would have been in 1973. I checked out the memorial page and remembered some of the names and was sad to see they had passed away.

Its been over twenty years since I have been to Merrick and only a handfull of those I grew up with remain there. In talking with them I wonder why they have stayed as the cost of living is so high but then again it is HOME. I also remember Gary Askanas, Gary Adelman, Richard Worrel and the Purcel boys Francis and Richard. Yes, I knew Dennis too. Things I remember ? The opening of Bohacks, wi the two clowns Bo and Hack...sledding on the hill were Bablyon Turnpike is now, the firestation burning down, skating on the pond near Meadowbrook Road, fishing the piers at Jones Beach and of course Jones Beach it self.
